In anticipation of a draft pintail model being released by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service) this fall as part of the long-awaited pintail harvest strategy revision, CWA and several other state waterfowl associations within the Pacific Flyway have asked that it include certain elements to help ensure that, to the extent possible, it promotes expanded hunter opportunity

San Jacinto Wildlife Area Project Summary
California Waterfowl Association undertook complete reconstruction of all the infrastructure during the summer 2023 on the wetland at the entrance to the San Jacinto Wildlife Area. The improvements have allowed independent water delivery to the wetland unit and complete drainage.

Freemont student wins California Digital Junior Duck Stamp Constest
An acrylic painting of an American Wigeon is California’s entry in the 2023 Federal Junior Duck Stamp Conservation and Design Program art contest. Michelle Lin, age 16, of Fremont, California, won Best of Show with her work titled, "Glimpse of Temperance”. Kwon’s sponsor is Irvington High School instructor Kimberly Parker.
