The California Wood Duck Program is largely run by volunteers who over the thirty plus years have helped bring the wood duck population back to a thriving level across the Pacific Flyway!

Mallard Egg Salvage

Farmers who enroll in the program allow us to sweep their fields for nests before harvest, or provide us with cartons to collect eggs as they harvest. We then take the eggs to permitted hatcheries.

Now that Nesting Bird Habitat Incentive Program is funded through the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, California Waterfowl will be assisting the Department with implementation of the program.

THOMPSON SECURES $2.8 MILLION FOR FOURTH DISTRICT WETLAND CONSERVATION

Rep. Mike Thompson (CA-04) has secured $2.8 million for the California Waterfowl Association to restore and enhance over 1,600 acres of wetlands and uplands in the Bay Area, benefiting many species of migratory birds across the Fourth District and surround areas. Special thanks to Robert Eddings for his excellent work in writing this successful grant proposal.
