Wetland habitat and public access improved at Butte Valley WA
Almost $1 million was recently spent at Butte Valley Wildlife Area enhancing 1,609 acres of managed seasonal wetlands and uplands. The Wildlife Conservation Board, CA Dept. of Fish & Wildlife, NAWCA and CA Duck Stamp funds contributed to the project.

AB 160 Signed by governor, clears way for organizations to market shooting sports to youth again
We are happy to report that AB 160 was just signed into law by the governor. This state legislation exempts the communication and marketing of youth hunting, hunter education, sport shooting activities and competitions from restrictions put in place under AB 2571.

CWA Secures State Funding to Support Water Transfer for Lower Klamath NWR
California Waterfowl entered into a contract with the California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) to fund the transfer of up to 3,750 acre-feet of irrigation water from a landowner in the Wood River Valley of Oregon to help flood Unit 2 and other wetland habitat at the Lower Klamath National Wildlife Refuge.
