What Happens Then
Passports must be submitted to CWA by November 30, 2008. For every
conservation step you have completed and indicated on your passport,
your name will be submitted 50 additional times for the drawing.
Please include copies or photos of any projects.
A random drawing will take place on December 1, 2008, and winners
will be notified the following week by December 8th. Participants
must have a valid California hunting license by the date of the
hunt and be available during the last week of December.
And for the Winners
Two lucky junior hunters will win the hunt of a life time with sport’s celebrities Dusty Baker (manager of Cincinnati Reds) and Ken O’Brien (former quarterback of N.Y. Jets and UC Davis.)
These hunts will take place at a
great waterfowl hunt location like Conaway Ranch near Woodland or
Footrot Flats near Yuba City. Here’s what a past year’s
winner had to say:
Dear CWA,
Thank you very much for this incredible hunt with Dusty Baker. I
was so excited when I heard that I was selected for a celebrity
hunt with Mr. Baker at the Conaway Ranch. My dad and I made the
long drive from San Diego to Sacramento the day before the hunt.
The morning of the hunt, we went to the storage building to go on
our hunt, I was amazed by the eight wheel ATV’s and the quads,
it was a fun ride to the blind! When we were at the duck blind,
it didn’t take long for the first duck to come by, it was
a nice Bull Sprig. I shot at it quickly with one shot, and it became
my very first duck as a duck hunter. As the time passed by, I eventually
got my limit of 7 ducks. I shot 1 Pintail, 1 Gadwall, 1 Green Wing
Teal, and 4 Mallards.
The pin on my Pintail was very long, so my dad and I decided that
we should mount it, and that’s just what we did.
After the fabulous hunt, CWA provided a great lunch. Thank you again
CWA for this incredible hunt that I will never forget. I also want
to thank Dusty Baker and Mike Hall of the Conaway Ranch for making
this an unforgettable day!!
Sincerely,
Willie Bennett
PS – Dusty Baker has a new life-long fan!!
